Club Info
Club Profile
Formed in 1976, the South Australian Division of the Alfa
Romeo Owners Club of Australia was established to recognise the proud following of
enthusiasts of the marque.
Club Meetings
The club meets at 8.00pm on the first Thursday of each month, located at the Sporting Car
Club, 51 King William Rd Unley (Conference room, down the driveway). Some meetings are
held at other venues. For example the January meeting is traditionally held at EUROSPORT
Automotive, where a BBQ is provided.
Technical Evenings
The club also has a Technical Sub-committee but is looking for a chairman at present. The
aim of the technical sub committee is to foster an understanding of their vehicles among
members, and to provide technical assistance where possible on a wide range of topics
affecting Alfa owners.
Club Events
Other traditional events held each year, in conjunction with the monthly meetings include,
an Alley Rally around the back streets of Adelaide and nearby suburbs, a Table Top Rally
and a Christmas BBQ. Several dinners are held on Saturdays during the year and these
include the Trophy Dinner, held in July.
The Club hires the local motor racing circuit (Mallala
Motor Sport Park) several times a year and runs Driver Training days. These are well
attended by AROCA members and the members of other car clubs in South Australia. The AROCA
(SA Inc.) is affiliated with the Marque Sports Car Club
and Sprint meetings are held several times a year. This gives club members the opportunity
to compete in well organised motor racing events sanctioned by CAMS.
Club Magazine
"Le Automobili Alfa" is the Club's Magazine. Published once a month, it keeps
members posted on what is happening within the club, as well as providing Alfa Romeo news
and historical notes. The news letter also has a buy, sell and exchange section that is
free to club members. Businesses can advertise in the magazine by buying a half or full
page, or by putting in their Business Card. A Business Card advertisement costs only A$30
a year.
The Alfa Romeo Owners Clubs of Australia are affiliated with one another via a National
Council that meets after Alfesta each year.
